Silk dress and combat boots

One of my all time favorite tricks is to mix ultra feminine pieces, like this silk dress with masculine ones, in this case the combat boots.

Combat boots are not worn anymore only by punk kids from the 90’s and, their renaissance in popularity have fashionistas styling them in so many different ways.

To be completely honest, I love this boots in every combination possible, but by far my go to look is with an ultra feminine dress.

I alway enjoyed to make this type of fashion contradictions, because I can mix together my girlie side with my tomboy-ish one… which I truly love them equally.

The combination between a summer-ish silk dress and a pair of combat boots it is extremely chic and very sophisticated. If you want to achieve more of a fall look, it is easy to layer it with any type of jacket.

I know that in So Cal it still feels like summer, even if it’s October and Halloween is just around the corner. I felt that this look is perfect for a end of summer fashion inspiration.

If you are not quite ready to give up all the light weight fabrics, so I’m telling you: simply don’t! If you are in the mood to play a little, go outside the norm, do some layering and incorporate them in outfits that are going to keep you warm.

60’s vibe: A-line skirt for fall

Hello my lovelies,

A-line skirts are a must have this fall season. What I like the most, about a A-line skirt, is the fact that it gives you a retro touch with a 60’s vibe.

A-line are very easy to style and wear, because they have a versatility that can flatter any body shape.

The skirt that I’m wearing in the pictures, it’s perfect for the cold season because the material is thick and also textured. So, you can pull out an outfit with it even in the winter. You just need to add a pair of opaque stockings and you are ready to go, my dear.

For fall, usually we see this skirts paired with booties or over the knee boots, but you already know that my favorite alternative for those is a pair of socks and platforms.

Because I kept my outfit in the black-white-navy color scheme, I decided to throw a pair of bold green platforms (now on sale for under 50$) mixed with some red socks as a “out of the ordinary” touch. I know it’s not for everybody. But if you are in the mood one day to go a little crazy, do it! Trust me, it is fun!

In conclusion, I love the retro 60’s vibe of this look and I think I`ll try more often. I kind of enjoy the whole retro idea.
