How to style a flannel dress?

Who doesn’t love cozy flannel pattern in the Fall? But in the same time, we want to wear them without looking dated. So, ladies and gents let me introduce you the star of the show: the flannel dress.

Plaid might seem the easiest pattern to wear; but I’m sorry to be the one breaking it down for you: it is the trickiest to pull off. Of course, in case that you don’t want to look like you just came back from the 2000’s.

A plaid print styled correctly it can look really cool and can give a high fashion, sophisticated vibe.

When comes to flannel shirts, I always choose the oversized ones… just because it’s easier to style them in a way that looks trendy. If they are not giving me a little of that masculine’ish vibe … I just avoid them by any means.

That’s also the reason why I loved this dress in the first place. It is chunky and oversized.

The red and black plaid pattern is the most popular out of all and to be completely honest it is the color combo that I’m not crazy about at all. The way it looks though on this dress doesn’t bother me.

Today, I styled the dress in 2 different ways, but you don’t need to stop there. This dress is one that offers you a plethora of styling options and can be worn in various seasons. It can make the best layering piece over a pair of leather leggings and a biker jacket on your shoulders.

It is a few inches shorter than I expected, but paired with the patent leather ankle booties and a black felt hat I achieved a unique, more low-key sexy look.

I changed up the tune a little bit for the second part from sexy to girlie. Adding the super fun pair of sneakers, a beanie and a jean jacket, same dress looks completely different. More of a casual, fun look perfect for your Fall rendezvous.

Lingerie as outerwear – trend alert

Wearing your lingerie as outerwear can sound pretty crazy, right? Well, think about it again… We’ve seen this trend around for some years on & off, but lately it has continued to pick up speed.

lingerie trend

For the first time, I tried this trend a couple of years ago when I thought that wearing a lace bralette over a white tee it would be something a little bit out of the ordinary. Oh well… it was. Back then this whole lingerie trend it wasn’t such a big thing, so I got some “weird” looks :))

For today’s post I used a lace bralette as my crop top in my outfit.

I really believe that, wearing a nice piece of lingerie mixed in with some prêt-à-porter items, can look very seductive without being too much.

Even though, exposing your bra might not be too comfortable for many women, I would suggest you to try it… at least once. You can start by adding a semi-sheer blouse over your  favorite bra. It will make you feel more covered and the effect created it will not be as full-frontal.

Like in most of my outfits, I love to mix textures. For this particular look, I couldn’t think of something more appropriate to combine my lace bralette than this silk kimono. The high waisted jeans are cutting a little bit that bedroom/lounge vibe of the outfit and is bringing it into the street style zone.

With the right pieces mixed together, I have to say that I’m really digging this trend. Are you going to try it this summer? I would love to hear what do you think.

Have a gorgeous week,

XoXo, OD!

How to wear the famous palazzo pants

In today’s post, I wanna talk about a super trendy pair of bottoms: the palazzo pants.

palazzo pants

Palazzo pants can be pretty tricky to style, but they can help you achieve any type of look: from uptown chic to downtown sexy.

They certainly have that versatility and with the right styling, you can take them from the office to a fancy rooftop party.

I have to say that I own a couple of pairs, but when I saw these ones at H&M, I had to buy another pair. Well, actually not one, but two. I tried on the black ones and I liked so much the fitting that I went for a hunt in the city to find the beige pair in my size. It was the first time when I liked an item so much that I bought an item in 2 different colors.

If you are looking to buy a pair of palazzo pants, I would suggest to go for a pair of high waisted ones, so you will create a more balanced look.

I’m sure that this is not going to be the last post about this pants, but I’ll style them different each and every time so you will have more styling ideas of the same item.

For the first styling idea, I wanted something casual for a super busy Sunday.

Choosing a pair of sneakers for the palazzo pants gave me that laid back vibe that I was looking for.

The ruffled details on the waist just makes these pants to stand up more. I added an oversized T-shirt, that instead of tucking it in, I made a little front knot. I found that gave a nice touch to the entire look.

Being a pretty much black and white outfit, I wanted a pop of color which this time it was my bag, that I completely love.

I wish you all a great week my lovelies,

Until next time, XoXo.
