How to style: pleated midi leather skirt

Hello lovelies,

If there is an item, that you definitely need to have it ready for the fall season is the pleated midi leather skirt.

I wanna start by telling you, that with this particular item,  you have to pay a little more attention to your height, when you choose your midi skirt length.

A midi skirt can be anywhere from your knee to your calf, but if you are petite, you should choose a midi skirt that will sit above your mid-calf and wear it with high-heels, so you will give the impression of longer legs. If you are tall, my dear, you are lucky because you can wear any length for your midi skirt.

Styling a midi skirt is not that easy, even if it’s such a versatile piece and allows you to create so many different looks, you have to pay attention to the volume that you create. You don’t wanna look like you have been swallowed up by a big ball of fabric. Just know your body and play with proportions.

For today’s post a styled a pleated midi leather skirt in two, totally different ways: for the first styling option, I chose to go with a more of an edgy look, and in the second one, a more feminine, girly-girl look with a twist.

How to wear a kimono with jeans

Hello lovelies,

We see it in the window of every store right now- the trendy kimono. Patterned usually with lots of flowers in bloom, or even palm trees fronds, it is incredibly appealing and you definitely can be temped by the fabulous print, but are we ready to wear it outside?

I told you before that I’m totally digging the pijama trend, which I think is totally stylish, so of course I love the kimono’s but the last thing that we want is to look like we forgot to take off our loungewear robe.

Styling a kimono it is really simple and requires the most basic attire: a T-shirt and some skinny jeans.

If you want to create an outfit using a kimono as your center piece, you should give the entire look the idea of effortless, like the kimono is was thrown on careless. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend trying to match the design, or adding more layers than the jeans and a T-shirt, because your entire look will look over-thought, which is exactly the opposite of an “I didn’t try too much” outfit.

Get your Gingham game on

Hello my lovelies,

The power of gingham print, was back strong in the game this season: from skirts to swimwear, in the form of a ruffled blouse, or a off-the-shoulder dress, we’ve seen it everywhere.

No matter in which category your personal style fits, I`m sure that there is out there a gingham piece that will suit your taste.

Even if seems so much fun to wear a gingham pattern item, it’s still a print, so it can be tricky to style, especially if you are not into the girly girl type of look.

When I saw this super cute wrap blouse, I immediately decided to get it because it is a combination of 3 trends that I’m totally loving right now: pearls, gingham pattern and ruffled sleeves.

I enjoyed a lot how the whole outfit came together, pairing the blouse with this flare pants, in this gorgeous blush color… it just makes the shirt and the pattern to stand out more.

I’m still in the hunt for the perfect gingham skirt, so I hope that the trend is not going anywhere soon. I would enjoy to play a little bit more and have fun creating unique outfits with this print.

Have a great weekend babes, XO!

How to wear blazer and denim shorts

Hello my lovelies,

If you are familiar with my blog, you know that for me fashion and style means combining pieces that we wouldn’t normally wear them together. This was also the main idea behind this outfit: you would not necessarily mix a pair of denim shorts, which are totally casual, with an elegant black blazer.

It is a street style outfit that is really appealing and will make you look fabulous, without trying too much.

What I like a lot about this look is that you can mix almost any shoes with it: high heels to rock your girls night out, sneakers, if you have to run some errands around the city, and even flats for an end of summer romantic walk with your love.

Being mid September, add a pair of combat boots and make it the perfect summer to fall transition outfit.

It is one of my favorite looks and I think that makes you look put together with items, that you have for sure in your dressing.

Floral Romper

Hello my lovelies,

I really enjoyed seeing girls wearing rompers, because they are a simple choice that you can`t go wrong with. We find them in all lengths, shapes, fabrics, patterns… girl, you have a big variety to choose from.

I wanted a short romper so, my only problem was that I couldn’t find one to fit me right and not make my feet look like two sticks ( I know they are not far from that, but still).

When I saw this cute romper at Zara, I could’ve bet that it will not work for me…well, I had a big surprise in the fitting room… I loved it. I like the flower pattern and the little ruffles on the shoulders. To run around the city, on a hot Cali summer day, I chose to wear it with a pair of flat sandals, but it will look as gorgeous with a pair of high heels for a night out.

I really hope that I can find more jumpsuits/rompers to fit me, because I enjoy their comfortability and the fact that you can create a sharp outfit with no effort.

If you choose a monochromatic romper you can definitely go heavy with the accessories, but if your romper has an interesting pattern, you will need very little accessorizing and your outfit is ready. Go and rock the day my dear!

Shirt-dress fever

Hello my lovelies,

In this spring-summer preferences, we find up top the shirt-dress: it’s casual, easy to wear and flattering for all the silhouettes.

They are basically a long button-down shirt, slightly oversized, it looks like a basic shirt (their upper half – sleeves and collar, gives them that semi-elegant look) but has the perfect length to be a dress.

When we are talking about styling shirt-dresses, I think that the shoes set the tone of the outfit and also the way you choose to accessorize it, depending the time of the day and the location.

Being a stylistically hybrid, the shirt-dress offers a lot of styling alternatives to the ones ready to go outside their comfort zone and play with it.

Powerful floral print suit

Hello my lovelies,

If we think about suits, usually the first thing that we say is business attire, dark colors, basically boring … but my dear, that has changed.

Starting with this spring, we started to see more and more suit-sets with powerful floral prints. I am totally digging the trend because it’s fun to wear and you can play with the blazer or the pants mixing them with other pieces.

When I saw this suit, I already imagined myself styling it in so many different ways.

The most simple way to wear this suit is adding a pair of stilettos, for that elegant – sophisticated look.

I also chose to go for a more unusual styling, and yes, I know that suits equal elegant, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add a pair of sneakers, a white T-shirt and call it a day.

I put together for you also 2 looks, in which I incorporated the blazer and the pants with other items.

T-shirt: Drew

Shoes: Steve Madden

Accessories: H&M and Guess

Sunglasses: Miu Miu

Jeans: Zara

T-shirt: American Eagle

Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I felt in love with the location where I shot the last pictures of the look… don’t forget that love is everywhere and you might find it in the places where you least expect.

Funky pencil skirt

Hello my lovelies,

When I start putting together my outfits, I always do it accordingly to how I feel.

If you ask my friends to use one word to describe me, they will say for sure – bubbly. I am a fun-crazy kid, with a bubbly personality, so I feel that a funky kind of style represents me the most.

I am a total sucker for crazy prints: animé, cartoons, pop art, everything that is colorful and fun.

When I saw this skirt at TopShop, I felt in love with the print. I though that I can create a lot of looks that will show more of my bubbly personality.

Be fun, dress funky, even if your outfit is not perfectly composed, the most important thing is how you feel when you are wearing it.

I had a lot of fun during this photoshoot and I just let my inner kid to come out and play with some balloons.

How to wear your sports bra outside the gym

Hello my lovelies,

One of the unexpected but popular trends that is going on right now, is wearing your sport bra outside the gym.

Creating outfits with your favorite sports bra, that are in a different zone than the actual sporty look, is not that difficult. A sports bra is basically a crop top that is tight, so start by styling it with non-athletic pieces.

When I started creating this outfit, I was thinking about pairing pieces that you wouldn’t normally put together: a sports bra with a flower print elegant high-heels, a pair of pants that they look like sweatpants but they are actually not and to complete the look, I added this cute, silky, light-weight bomber jacket.

I loved the summer-ish vibe of the final look and it got a lot of compliments during the photoshoot.
