Favorite fall coat

Hello my lovelies,

The star of the show in today’s post is for sure, the coat.

When I saw it in the store, I automatically knew that I want it to be mine. I tried on a small size, which it was way too big for me. I was super disappointed, because I thought that is a very unique coat and I could create some really cool outfits with it. I was checking what else they had, when on the other side of the store I saw another coat, which for my surprise it was an XS.

The fabric that the coat is made off, it’s what makes it so different and interesting… kind of a mesh, but not really, that’s the reason why I chose to style it with a leather mini skirt and some fishnet leggings. I wanted an all black look, more on the edgy side, because for some reason I find myself digging this style a lot.

Shades of blue: layered outfit

Hello my lovelies,

Layering is one of those styling tricks, that if done correctly, can be super useful: it keeps us warm but still stylish during cold months.

Many of us are afraid of layered clothes because we don’t want to look with at least a size bigger than we are. But if you master this little styling trick, instead of making you look bigger, it will give the impression of a more proportional silhouette.

If you are born with some styling skills, layering is not a problem for you, but if you are not one of those, honestly, I don’t believe is so much about the skills and ingenuity, it’s more about having the right pieces and know a few layering rules.

The most important rule that you should follow is knowing that under layers must be fitted in order to keep your shape looking slim.

When styling a layered outfit, I like to play with texture, because the mix of materials will make you avoid “a size bigger” look.

Before I moved to California, I was living in Eastern Europe, where winter is no joke. I used to say that, when is cold outside I’m dressed like an onion because I had so many layers on me.

So, let’s all be some stylish onions this winter (hahaha)

One dress, 2 looks

Hello my lovelies,

I wrote about slip dresses before and I like the most about them is that you can put together a super stylish outfit and you’ll look like you didn’t try hard at all.

For today’s post I used this super cute asymmetric slip dress and create two separate looks.

For the first look I decided to throw over a fluffy and cozy pullover, that I loved how it look with the slinky slip dress underneath. I Believe that the contrast between the materials was the key for this styling and the only requirement that’s left, it was to add a pair of booties to finish the look.

For the second look, I replaced the sweater with a biker jacket. I’m not a super big fan of wearing high heels with my slip dresses, because I like to dress them down a little, that’s the reason why I kept the booties. I chose this silver biker jacket, because I really like the effect that was created together with the shimmery of the dress.

How to wear your oversized jacket as a dress

Hello my lovelies,

In today’s post, I’ve created a look with this gorgeous oversized jean jacket. I have styled it different in this post, so if you want to see how it looks, check it out.

Being an oversized jacket, is super versatile and can be mixed with almost everything in your closet: dresses, skirts, pants and why not, even with jeans.

The slouchy look of it, makes it also perfect for some serious layering in the cold season.

In today’s post, I want to show you that if you are out of ideas, or in a “I don’t have anything to wear” moment, even a jacket can be worn as a dress.

For this particular jacket, I think you need to add a belt to accentuate your waist, so you avoid the boxy look given by the jacket. I told you in a previous post that I like to style everything with a brooch so I decided that this belt looked awesome with this cute spider brooch.

The stockings and the boots gives the perfect rock-ish look to the entire outfit.

I hope you have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

A-line skirt for fall

Hello my lovelies,

A-line skirts are a must have this fall season. What I like the most, when we talk about a A-line skirt, is the fact that it gives you a retro touch with a 60’s vibe.

A-line are very easy to style and wear, because they have a versatility that can flatter any body shape.

The A-line skirt that I wear in the pictures, I think is perfect for the cold season because the material is thick and also textured, so you can pull out an outfit with it even in the winter… you just need to add a pair of opaque stockings and you are ready to go, my dear.

For fall, usually we see this skirts paired with booties or over the knee boots, but you already know that my favorite alternative for those is a pair of socks and platforms.

Because I kept my outfit in the black-white-navy color scheme, I decided to throw a pair of bold green platforms (now on sale for under 50$) mixed with some red socks as a “out of the ordinary” touch. I know it’s not for everybody, but if you are in the mood one day to go a little crazy, do it! Trust me, it is fun!

How to wear vinyl skirt

Hello my lovelies,

Vinyl is a really big fashion trend right now and to be honest I didn’t think that I would be digging it.

Doesn’t matter that we talk about skirts, pants, or coats, vinyl it is for sure the latest street style trend.

I like how vinyl skirts look in an outfit if they are dressed down and worn with a heavy knit sweater or even a sweatshirt. I’m not a big fan of how they look with high heels or in a more elegant look.

This skirt has a funny story behind, because I wasn’t looking to buy one, not even crossed my mind that I would wear one… EVER. While I was in H&M shopping for some sweater, I found the one that I’m wearing in this outfit today and on my way to the fitting room, I saw the skirt. I was 100% sure that I would not like it or buy it, but just for fun I decided to take it with me and have fun trying it on. Oh well, surprise…. I loved how it looked mixed with this sweater; perfect combination. Bottom line, that’s how this look was born: in a fitting room at H&M.

Are you digging the vinyl trend?

Sweater dress and over the knee boots

Hello my lovelies,

If I had to choose my favorite fall pieces, it would have to be for sure an oversized sweater dress and some over the knee boots. Besides the fact that they go perfect hand in hand, they also give you that relaxed, yet super trendy look.

As much as I love OTK boots, I don’t own too many pairs, simply because they don’t fit me. Almost all of them are super large for me and I just don’t like the way they look.

I was super excited to find this pair at Aldo because they are super stretchy (basically they look like an over the knee sock) so they fit me like a dream.

When it comes to sweater dresses, my favorite are the ones that are slightly oversized and can be worn with combat boots or sneakers, if I want to dress them down, but also with a pair of heeled OTK boots, for a more elegant look. I think that they are super comfy, warm and just perfect for the fall season.

You definitely have to own a few sweater dresses, because they are one of those items that you can’t go wrong with.

I decided to give up any necklaces and accessorize my sweater dress with this cute bee brooch. Brooches are super back on trend and I have to admit they are my favorite accessory. For sure you will see more of them in future posts, because I wear them on shirts, coats, belts, hats, almost everything.

How are you styling your favorite sweater dresses? Let me know in the comment box below. I would love to hear from you

How to wear leather pants

Hello my lovelies,

I already told you in a previous post, that one of my favorite fabrics to wear when fall comes, it’s leather. I talked here about my favorite leather dress, or in this post about how to style pleated midi leather skirt.

Today is all about the leather pants. They have been on trend forever and if worn correctly, they can give the most stylish, chic or elegant look.

When styling leather pants, you have to be careful what are you going to pair them with. I usually like to create a contrast between fabrics, so for example, to achieve an elegant look, I like to mix the leather pants with a super feminine lace top.

In today’s outfit post, I wanted to do a casual look, something more street style. I have this pair of leather pants for over a year, but I didn’t wear them once, because they don’t have that perfect fit, cigarette cut that I prefer. I ended up loving how they look, paired with this super loose knit sweater.

Being an all black outfit, I wanted to add a pop of color by wearing this super interesting pair of pumps. What’s so special about them? They are not leather, it’s more of a perforated fabric that sets them on the casual side.

To finish off the look, I added this stylish hat, that made the perfect match with the shades.

I hope you had an awesome weekend,

Glen plaid skirt

Hello my lovelies,

It’s not just sweater and knits season, fall is also great to wear some plaid pattern pieces.

The glen plaid is a combination of small and large checks and usually we can find it in muted neutrals (gray, brown, beige and black). The beauty of this color scheme is that it gives you unlimited possibilities for mixing it with other colors.

This print makes me think of fall for sure, but trust me, I couldn’t put on anything more than a skirt and a T-shirt, because October in LA means over 100 degrees F (38C). It has been pretty challenging to come up with great fall outfit ideas, when all I want to wear are super light beach dresses.

Some of you guys, that are actually enjoying the nice October weather, you can also wear this outfit just by throwing a coat or blazer over your shoulder.

Being a pencil skirt with a plaid pattern it will make you think first of an office outfit, so I definitely wanted to take it out of that zone and style it a little different.

I went more for a casual-elegant look, dressed down the skirt by adding the T-shirt, but still kept a little of it’s elegancy with the high heels.

Band T-shirt dress trend

Hello my lovelies,

The band T-shirt trend was huge in the 90s and it was basically the urban groupie definition.. If then, the trend was to wear them with ripped jeans, flannel shirt over and motorcycle boots, now, when they had such a big comeback, there are no fashion boundaries. Pair them with feminine accessories, high heels or even pencil skirt to get the ultimate street style.

Lately, I’m all about the low maintenance grunge look (especially that I was super sick when I took this pictures, so I needed something that didn’t require too much effort from me), but I think that a band T-shirt dress looks more badass than never.

With this look, I tried to bring a little bit of the 90s Seattle scene into present… I think I did a pretty good job 🙂

How do you like to style your band T-shirt or dresses?

Have an amazing week,
