My nighttime skincare routine

Hello my lovelies,

Being a makeup artist for so many years, I must say that skincare is way more important than makeup application. Even the best products in the world, will not look as good and will not perform at their highest, if not applied on a skin that has been taking care of.

In today’s post I will share with you my nighttime skincare routine, so this is basically what I’m doing every single night (no exception) before I’m going to bed.  These are the products, that over the years, I discovered that they work the best for my skin. It will be a long post, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy!

I would like to say in the beginning that I have combination skin: oily in my T-zone, with enlarged pores on the apples of my cheeks and my forehead. That’s why I introduced in my routine products that are targeting these problems.

First step in my skincare routine is removing my makeup… and this should be the most important thing that you do before you go to bed. Not removing your makeup at night, can create so much damage for your skin that you can’t even imagine (I’m planning on writing a post only about this, soon).

I start by removing my eye makeup using Clinique “Take the day off – for eyes and lips” and after I take a Neutrogena makeup towelette and wipe the day away.

Step 2: To wash my face I’m using Shiseido – “Perfect cleansing oil” together with my Clarisonic brush. Even if you are, or not wearing makeup, it is impetuously needed to wash your face and remove all the dirt and oils before you are moving to the next steps.

Step 3: Toner.

The one that I’m using right now is “Pores no more” by Dr. Brandt and I saw really good results for my enlarged pores.

Step 4: Serums and Acids

My go to serum is The Ordinary “Niacinamide 10% , Zinc 1%” . For those of you, that don’t know anything about Niacinamide, is basically known as a combination of vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid. It’s improving the appearance of enlarged pores, fines lines, dulness, and offers as well multiple benefits for aging skin. After using this for a while, I fell that my skin has more balance and it is not that oily anymore.

After applying the Niacinamide serum, I’m using also from The Ordinary, their “Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%”. This fights texture and keeps blemishes away, being in the same time really gentle on the skin. For me, these two together, have done miracles for my skin.

Step 5: Moisturizer. You can already tell that I love The Ordinary products, so the moisturizer that I’m currently using is also from them. I like it because it is light-weight but really hydrating in the same time, it absorbs quickly and just leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

This is pretty much it, the only thing that I do extra, once or twice a week is applying a mask and right now I enjoy using The Rubber mask by Dr. Jart… You have to try it!

If you have any question about any of the products or my regimen, please write  them in the comment section down below.

Have a magical day!

How to wear – Pleated mini skirt

Hello my lovelies,

Today I wanna talk about this very stylish, yet understated plated skirt with mini length cuteness, that will pull your ultimate cool-girl move.

This bottom piece is really eye-catching, because the pleats look just stunning, so I would wear them with something simple ( top, shirt, tank top) and let it be the focal point of your outfit.

They come in a variety of lengths and pleats styles, so I`m sure that you can find the perfect one for your body type.

I chose to wear my pleated mini skirt with a loose-fit shirt (I love the little pearl details on the back of it) and a pair of sneakers to go for a more sporty-chic look.

I wouldn’t see myself wearing this skirt with high heels, just because mine is pretty short and I think that the sneakers or a pair of flats will give you that dose of cuteness and innocence.

How to wear slip dresses

Hello my lovelies,

Slip dresses are another 90`s item that are strongly back in the trend game.

You may think that is not an easy item to pull off, because it can be pretty challenging  to go outside with a dress that literally looks like lingerie. But just let me prove you wrong. Styling wise, you can put together some really nice outfits alternating different style zones: from elegant to edgy, rock or retro you can do pretty much everything.

There is a combination of sexy and laid-back about this dress that just makes me love it and I don’t even have to say anything about the fabric, because it is so silky and so damn soft to the touch.

I think I’ve worn mine with pretty much everything: biker jacket and a pair of booties, gladiator sandals, for a night out I just added a pair of single strap stilettos; although my favorite way to wear it is a T-shirt underneath and a pair of white sneakers.

If you don’t like layering and you enjoy more going for a minimal style, just go heavy with your accessories and your look will be simply perfect.

Let`s hit the beach – outfit ideas

Hello my lovelies,

Some people, usually, don’t think too much about what to wear for a day at the beach, but that it’s not the case if you wanna create a fabulous beach outfit and stand out from the crowd.

I put together for you a few beach outfits, that we’ll make look chic and stylish even when you are laid-back, relaxed and with your feet in the sand listening the ocean.

Cover-ups are the most popular item in creating that perfect beach look. They are my number one option because I like their loose fitting and the feather light fabric.

Cover-up: Zara

Using an oversized, men – button down shirt as a cover up is always a really stylish idea, just add a big straw hat and your fabulous look is done.

Shirt: Local store

Hat: Karl Lagerfeld

If you wanna go for a more flower power look,  a colorful scarf, some sunglasses and a knotted basic white tee, should do it.

A hot pair of denim shorts can be another good choice because, you can wear them just with your bikini top , add a tank-top, T-shirt, off-the-shoulder top… the options are unlimited.

Tank-top: American Eagle

Enjoy you relaxing days at the beach but, the most important thing: Don’t forget your sunscreen! XOXO

All white outfit

Hello my lovelies,

In the summer, I really enjoy wearing all white outfits because if you have a little bit of tan, it just gives you an effortless glow.

If you don’t have any inspiration in mixing colors or prints, choosing a minimal, monochromatic outfit will always be a winning look.

I really think that everyone can pull of an all white outfit and look gorgeous, because there is no secret styling tricks to this outfit. They are crisp, clean and inspire a lot of confidence.

When I choose to wear an all white look, I like to mix different shades of white and always add a colorful pair of shoes.

The only downside of this outfit is, that you always have to be careful and stay away from stains.

The perfect pair of pants for this summer

Hello my lovelies,

It’s summer, baby! As you can see, cropped flowy wide-legs pants are on the racks of every store in different silhouettes, colors, lengths, patterns. I think that they are the perfect pair of pants for the summer because they are extremely comfortable and light-weight in the heat.

When I was thinking before at a pair of wide-legs pants, I didn’t believe that I would enjoy wearing this ankle length style. All of my flare pants were, either covering my shoes completely, or just a few inches above my knee (culottes). Now I felt in love with them and I have a lot of fun creating new outfits for different occasions.

It takes no effort to throw them on and their biggest attribute is that provide endless styling options. Add a T-shirt and sneakers (which I did as well) when you are out for a walk or running errands, or a button-down and some high-heels for a summer dinner on a nice patio. It doesn’t matter which way you choose to style them, the look is flattering and really chic.

Skater girl

Hello my lovelies,

I think all of us have days, when we want to put away the “Vogue” look and just let our inner tomboy come out and play.

The key in rocking a tomboy style outfit, is to add a feminine touch to it.

I wanted to go practice my skateboard skills (which btw are not that great), so I thought that was the perfect moment to choose more a tomboy look.

For my skater girl look I chose to wear my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, a sports bra and layer it with a see-through T-shirt.

You don’t need to be always a tomboy, but when you want to dress like one, just be confident and remember that we don’t need just high heels and body con dresses to be and feel sexy.

Fishnet fever

Hello my lovelies,

Fishnet stockings… who would believe that in every other Instagram post we will see one? I couldn’t believe what a huge comeback they had at the beginning of this year: from the big catwalks to street style.

I think that there are 2 ways you can approach fishnet stockings: one is to wear them as an accessory and let them peak out from under your distressed jeans, or wearing low-waisted pants, show a few inches of fishnet above your pants’ waistline. The second way is to let them be the main focus of your outfit: show them off with miniskirts and heavy boots or dresses and high heels.

I usually wear mine just as an accessory and let them be seen through the holes of my ripped jeans and pair them with some sneakers.

They look cool, and punk-ish and really really trendy… is there any downside to it? Unfortunately the answer is yes. Because fishnet stockings are a really tricky piece, if you want to mix them with a miniskirt or a dress, a good styling is important. Believe it or not, is pretty easy to go for that trendy high-fashion look and get that 90’s style stripper look. I’m sorry but I couldn’t find a nicer way to say it.

I still think that they are a fun piece to have in your closet and mix them as you desire.

Denim Skirt

Hello my lovelies,

As you saw from the title, today I want to talk about another denim piece: the skirt.

They`ve been around for a couple of decades, but I feel that the denim skirt trend is booming this summer more than ever.

There are a couple of changes, that have been made to the old denim skirt that we used to know: different lengths, distressed details, acid wash touches, and so on.

What I love the most about these fabulous skirts is their versatility. You don’t need a full set of styling skills in order to create a multitude of looks with your favorite denim skirt… all you need is to let your personality shine through and juggle from that casual-sporty girl, to classic girl or even edgy girl. This piece will make dressing so easily because there is nothing you can’t do with a denim skirt.

For today’s look, I chose to tuck in a basic white tee, some fun sneakers and add my favorite summer accessory: sunflowers!

Boyfriend jean jacket

Hello my lovelies!

I know that we all have in our dressing at least one pair of boyfriend jeans. I love them because they are really comfortable, and give you that “I didn’t tried too much” look, yet fashionable and chic.

Well, now it’s time to meet the boyfriend jean jacket! The oversized, slightly slouchy it is for sure a must have of this season because paired with certain items it can go from lazy clothing day to extremely trendy and even kinda weird sexy look… for me this jacket is that statement piece that can compliment any outfit and turn up our level of swagger.

Every time I wear this jacket, I receive so many compliments… this has led me to mix it in a lot of different looks.

How do you like to style your oversized jacket?
