Camouflage vibes: the camo jacket

The camouflage print it’s been on trend since the 90’s. In the lasts couple of years, a statement piece, especially for the winter outfits it was the camo jacket.

camo jacket

The camo jacket it’s a one of a kind, because we can wear it all year round. It works great for the cooler summer nights as a light jacket, or during winter with a knit sweater and a cozy scarf.

Maybe if you have asked me a few years ago what I think about wearing camouflage print, the answer would have been no. It was the exact same case with the leopard print or latex.

Even before I started this blog, I decided to expand my horizon and step outside my comfort zone more often. I ended up feeling more comfortable and confident wearing pieces that I never thought I would.

Back to our topic of the day. Even though the camo jacket inspires a little masculinity, it can be very sexy.

I have to admit that I like a lot a look where feminine meets tomboy style. I like a lot how this camo jacket looks with jeans. But it is something about it that makes me always to mix it with dresses or skirts.

For today’s outfit, I paired my camo jacket with a mini black denim skirt and a gray sweatshirt. I finished up the look by adding a pair of combat boots that gives a badass vibe to the entire look.

There is though one more thing about the camouflage print that I wanna mention. There is enough just one piece with this print to polish a look. It is a statement print so our attention should be focus on one single item.

To make the camo print stand out, I like to mix it with neutral colors: whites, blacks and greys.

Let’s rock this new week, my lovelies. I wish you have a great one. XoXo

Turtleneck midi bodycon dress

Lately I’ve been into buying basic pieces, that I can dress them up or down and mix them with some statement ones. That was my reason when I bought this turtleneck midi bodycon dress.

turtleneck dress

I was on the hunt for the perfect black turtleneck dress for ages. I just didn’t find one that would match my criteria.

All I wanted was a turtleneck dress made of a thick material, so I can wear it in the cold months too. It would have a mid-calf length and long sleeves. Trust me, it wasn’t easy, but I scored when I found this one at Zara.

There are a lot of days when I feel that I don’t have anything to wear (I’m sure you know the feeling) or when I’m just too tired to think of a complex outfit. Then all I would want is to go outside in my PJ and put 0 effort in getting ready.

This kind of dresses it was for sure created for those kind of days. Super easy to style, they allow you to dress them up or down just by choosing what shoes are you going to wear.

It is a super comfortable dress, but it’s very sexy in the same time. I can say that is my version of a LBD for the winter.

I styled mine with a short silver biker jacket too add a little contrast with the dress. The booties have a little bit of a heel but they are comfortable to walk around in them.

The beauty of such a simple turtleneck dress is that you can go crazy with the accessories without being too much.

Trend alert: Corset Caged belts

As these interesting looking belts, are popping up more and more, today’s post is about them: the corset caged belts.

corset caged belts

I’ve started to see them in a lot of different outfits and I just asked myself what do I feel about them?

I have to admit that I like the idea behind this trend. We clearly live in a oversized everything era, so an accessory that brings the attention on the waist, a body part that we kind of ignored lately, isn’t a bad thing.

Speaking of the oversized trend and the corset belts fever, these two can actually work really nice together. Add a corset belt over an oversized t-shirt or jacket and it will automatically give you an extra sexy vibe.

The corset caged belts are for sure an eye catcher. It is a cool accessory that will add style to any regular outfit.

I decided to go for a basic look, something super simple, so you can see how a single accessory can change your entire outfit.

Without the corset caged belt, today’s outfit would have been just a white shirt and a pair of coated black jeans. With the right accessory it is that simple to change a common look into a statement one.

Details are the ones that make the difference my lovelies.

I wish you all that 2018 will make each and every dream of yours come true. Happy New Year!

Fringed knitted dress

One of my favorite pieces to wear during winter, it is by far the knitted dress. I think they are absolutely gorgeous looking and very easy to style.

knitted dress

A knitted dress or sweater dress, it’s a garment that it shouldn’t miss from any girl’s dressing.

Personally, I believe that looks unique and incredibly chic, but besides this it is one of the comfiest dresses that I own.

Usually you can find the knitted dress in various lengths, cuts and styles. You have to choose which type of dress fits you the most to make a statement on everyone.

To be honest, when I first saw this dress, the fringed hem was the think that caught my attention.

The knit is also beautiful and the fabric is super soft. The dress is designed with an attached slip, so even though the knit holes are pretty big you don’t need to worry what you would wear underneath so it’s not see through.

It is a fitted tank dress, so it can be styled in different ways. I chose to wear it with a leather jacket over, just because I loved the textures mix.

A different way to style it is on top of your favorite button down shirt for a more office look.

Pleats obsession – suede pleated skirt

There is no secret how much I love a nice and girly pleated skirt. Mini or midi, skinny knife pleats or wide paneled pleats, they are my favorite.

pleated skirt

It is for sure the fact that they are not longer anymore just for preppy school girls.

They are super on trend and we’ve seen them paired with unexpected textures, or items such as moto jackets, oversized sweaters or even hoodies.

I think suede it is a very appropriate fabric for fall or winter because it looks great worn with leggings or opaque tights,

Styling mini skirts can be tricky, especially because you don’t wanna look tacky. Try to mix it with a shirt, a simple tee or an oversized sweater.

Usually a pleated skirt gives you a girly girl look. If you don’t want to achieve that look, throw a pair of combat boots and you’ll have the perfect mix between girly and tomboy.

Even though it is a very short skirt, this one has like a pair of shorts under. I like that a lot because you can move comfortably without worrying that you might show your tush by mistake.

The sweater that I’m wearing today it is one of my favorites too. It’s that piece that can make any simple outfit to pop up. The huge sequins are that little extra extra that your outfit needs.

Oversized hoodie or sweatshirt dress

One trend that we see more often in the street style zone, it is the oversized hoodie or sweatshirt dress with over the knee boots.

oversized hoodieIf you ask me, some of the most beautiful outfits are the ones that blend together contrasting elements. In this case, a sport-ish oversized hoodie, paired with some elegant and feminine over the knee boots.

Of course, that all the stores offer the oversized alternatives for the classic hoodie. You have also an easier option: just “shop” for one in your boyfriend’s closet.

Don’t be afraid that it will look baggy and slouchy, because my dear, that’s exactly what we are looking for.

If you choose to wear your oversized hoodie with a pair of over the knee sock boots, you will totally change the sport look of the dress and just give a little sex-appeal to the whole outfit.

To be honest, even if it is a super easy outfit to put together, is not that easy to wear. In my opinion it gives you an alluring look. With that being said, if you are not comfortable turning heads and being the center of attention, I wouldn’t recommend this look as a daily basis outfit.

Even though it is not an outfit that shows a lot of skin, and the dress kind of hides your body shape, it is extremely sexy.

I would totally chose to wear an oversized hoodie with a pair of over the knee boots, to any night out, club or party because it is actual and uber cool.

Happy Monday my lovelies… and let’s make this new week a memorable one.

Embroidered mini skirt

Happy Monday my lovelies! I don’t know exactly what happened, but this fall I have a thing for embroidered pieces and for patterns. This gorgeous embroidered mini skirt it is my first item since all this embroidery fever started.

embroidered mini skirt

The pattern and the detailing it is absolutely stunning and the unbelievable part is that it costs only 30$.

I know this skirt might not be new for you, we’ve already seen it almost all over the fashion blogosphere. The strange part is that I still wanted it, even though, usually it doesn’t matter how much I like something, if everyone has it, I’m not getting it anymore.

Well, with this skirt, it was a different story. For some reason, the pattern and the embroidered fabric reminds me of the traditional Romanian costumes. With Christmas being so close, I am a little more emotional than usual. So, every time I’m wearing this skirt I have a melancholic smile on my face, because it reminds me of my family and the place where I grew up.

We’ve seen this embroidered mini skirt incorporated in a lot of summer outfits.Usually, worn with white t-shirts or tops. I saw it more appropriate for fall, so I paired it with a cozy sweater and a faux fur vest.

Anytime I’m wearing this vest I get a million compliments.Everyone tells me that is pretty hard to believe that it is a faux fur. It looks and feels extraordinary real but it is not.

It’s true that I don’t wear real fur, especially when we have such great alternatives.

I hope you all have a great week ahead full of fulfillment.

Touch of color: patterned kimono jacket

Who says that we cannot wear colorful clothes during fall? The weather is so gorgeous in LA lately, that almost feels like spring and not fall. So, I was totally in a mood for a colorful look. This beautiful patterned kimono jacket is just perfect to define the touch of color that I needed.

patterned kimono jacket

Completely in love with kimonos, because they are a super versatile piece and a must have in any closet.

I have written before about the kimono dress and how to wear it with jeans here, so today I want to talk about this beautiful patterned kimono jacket.

Kimono jackets are, no doubt, a great alternative when you are not in the mood to wear another cardigan or blazer.

With a loose structure, kimono jackets are also great for layering during fall.

When I saw this one online, made me immediately, fall in love with the pattern and the color scheme. The fact that costs only 30$ it is just a bonus, trust me.

To accentuate the color of the kimono, I paired it with a simple black tee and some white skinny jeans. I know… this is a sensitive subject.

I heard all about the “no white after Labor Day” rule, but guess what? Sometimes I’m driven by the principle of “rules are made to be broken”. Furthermore, where do you add the fact that in So. Cal is summer almost all year round.

Most noteworthy, it is how affordable this entire look is: less than 150$. Head to toe.

In conclusion, my lovelies, you don’t need extremely pricey items to look stylish. What you really need is a little imagination and some patience on your next shopping spree.

Which is your favorite affordable fashion store to shop? I would love to hear from you.

Classy black- tricks in achieving an elegant all black look

Today I want to talk about the classy black. Achieving an elegant and classy all black look, is not difficult if you keep in mind a few rules.

Today I want to talk about the classy black. Achieving an elegant and classy all black look, is not difficult if you keep in mind a few rules.

When you think about an elegant, feminine, all black outfit, what’s the first think that comes into your mind? For me, it is Coco Chanel with her staple “little black dress”.

Black looks good on all hair colors, skin tones; black is elegant and timeless.

If you want to approach an all black outfit and look fashionable, I’ll share some tips with you that help me every time.

First of all, in every all black outfits, the most important thing that you should pay attention to, is fitting. True that black is slimming, however you don’t want to look shapeless. So, take advantage of it’s flattering attribute and wear more fitted clothes.

I’m guilty of this one. My all time favorite trick in a monochrome outfit (especially black) is: bold accessorizing. In today’s outfit, for example, I made a statement with the feather brooch. It completely changed the blazer, from a simple piece, to one that draws all the attention.

If you feel the need to add a pop of color, you can do it by choosing a pair of shoes in a bold color.

I wanted to keep my shoes black, because these blue, sparkly pearl socks just stole my heart. I just saw them perfectly integrated in this look; they are in the same styling zone with my whole outfit.

A mix of pearls, lace and feathers… can it get any better? Oh, yes my dear! Red lips. I always though that you have to create a balance between your outfit and your hairstyle and makeup. Don’t forget that is part of the look.

A cat eye liner and red lips was everything that I needed to complete this classy black look.

What are the occasions, when you like to wear an all black outfit?

Have a great week my lovelies,

How to achieve a casual but girly look

Hello my lovelies,

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving with your families.

I was super busy today, not necessarily going for those Black Friday deals (I rather do online shopping this day, than to deal with the crowds in the store), but I had to run around the city and get some things done. That’s why I chose to wear a casual but girly look that is super comfortable.

A few years ago, I wouldn’t think that I would ever wear any midi skirts, I developed a crush and I just keep buying them.

I like this particular one, because it’s slightly asymmetric, longer in the back, which gives it that little extra something.

You can easily dress it up and add a pair of high heels, but my favorite shoe combo for this skirt, it is for sure a pair of converse.

Another obsession that I have lately, is the tulle socks: simple, with studs, pearls or stones. I want to mix them with almost any type of shoes (I’m sure that you’ll see them in future posts too).

For this particular look, I think that the socks are a nice styling trick, that adds an extra cuteness to the outfit.

The funny thing about this outfit is that, when I saw the pictures I realized that I kind of match the face on my T-shirt 🙂

Have a great weekend,

XoXo, OD
